A standard mattress exerts constant pressure on the patient's skin, which can block blood flow and cause bedsores. An alternating air mattress is actively connected to a pump that inflates and deflates alternating rows of air cells. This constantly shifts the pressure points, mimicking natural body movement and allowing healthy blood flow to all areas of the skin.

2Can these beds treat existing pressure ulcers?

Yes. Our Support & Therapy beds are designed for both prevention and treatment. For patients with existing Stage I to Stage IV decubitus ulcers, the alternating pressure relief allows the wounds the necessary lack of friction and improved blood circulation needed to heal effectively.

3How noisy is the air pump?

Patient rest is vital. Our systems are equipped with a whisper-quiet, low-vibration aluminum motor housing. It operates at less than 30 decibels, ensuring it will not disturb the patient's sleep or cause irritation in a quiet ward.

4What happens in the event of a cardiac emergency or power failure?

Safety is built-in. Our air mattresses feature a highly visible, quick-release CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) valve. Pulling this tag instantly deflates the mattress to provide a hard, flat surface required for chest compressions. In the event of a power failure, the mattress retains air for several hours in a static mode.

5Are the mattresses waterproof and easy to clean?

Absolutely. The outer covers are made from medical-grade TPU or PVC fabric. They are completely waterproof, fluid-resistant, fire-retardant, and treated with an anti-microbial finish. They can be easily wiped down with standard hospital disinfectants without degrading.
