About the Project
OM ENT Hospital in Bhagalpur, Bihar, came to MedGenz India Pvt. Ltd. with a clear need: a clean, dependable surgical setup for ear, nose and throat care. We delivered three things for them: a modular operation theatre, a medical gas pipeline system (MGPS) and hospital furniture for patient-facing areas.
ENT surgery is delicate work. Ear microsurgery, sinus procedures and throat surgeries need a controlled, well-lit theatre where the surgical team can focus. They also need oxygen and other gases available at the right point, at the right time. For a hospital in Bhagalpur that wants to offer specialist ENT care, getting the OT, the gas supply and the furniture right from day one saves a lot of trouble later.
This isn’t our first project in the city. We have also worked with Medifort Hospital in Bhagalpur on a turnkey hospital setup, so we know what it takes to execute hospital projects in Bihar.
What the Hospital Needed
The brief from Dr. Dharmendar Kumar and the OM ENT Hospital team was straightforward. They wanted to:
- Build a modular OT in Bhagalpur that is easy to clean and comfortable for long ENT procedures.
- Install a centralized medical gas pipeline so staff don’t depend on loose cylinders in the theatre.
- Furnish the hospital with durable, easy-to-clean furniture suited to daily patient use.
- Get all three done by one team, so there is one point of contact from start to finish.
Scope of Work
1. Modular Operation Theatre
We built the OT using pre-engineered panels that fit together neatly, with no rough joints for dust to settle in. This covered:
- Smooth wall and ceiling panels with coved corners
- Chemical-resistant, antistatic flooring
- Sealed OT door
- Filtered air supply and air-conditioning arrangements, as specified
- OT light, control panel, pass box and scrub station, as specified
If you are planning a similar project, you can also preview your layout in our 3D OT studio before work begins.
2. Medical Gas Pipeline System (MGPS)
Our team planned and laid the pipeline network so gases reach the OT and other clinical areas through proper outlets. The work included:
- Pipeline routing and layout planning
- Supply and installation of pipes, outlets, valves and alarms, as specified
- Pressure and leak testing before use
- Commissioning and handover documentation
3. Hospital Furniture
Furniture in a hospital works hard every day. We supplied pieces chosen for strength, easy cleaning and patient comfort, as per the agreed list of items.
All materials, specifications and responsibilities follow the project agreement.
How We Worked
We started by listening. Before any drawing, we spoke with the hospital team about the kind of ENT procedures they handle, how patients move through the hospital and where they wanted the theatre.
We planned the OT, gas lines and furniture together. This avoided the usual site problems, like a gas outlet landing where a panel should go.
We installed with care. Panels, flooring and fittings were fitted with close attention to joints and finishes, because these decide how easy the OT will be to keep clean.
We tested before handing over. The gas pipeline went through pressure and leak checks, and the OT was checked for function and readiness.
We walked the team through it. At handover, the hospital staff were shown how everything works, so they could start using it with confidence.
Challenges We Kept in Mind
A hospital in Bhagalpur often serves patients from the surrounding districts, so it can’t afford long gaps in its surgical services. Working with several separate vendors for the OT, gas system and furniture can mean delays and mismatched work.
We addressed this by handling the three scopes ourselves, as one coordinated project. Prefabricated modular panels also helped, since they cut down messy on-site work and give a consistent finish.
What the Hospital Gets
- A cleaner surgical environment: Smooth, sealed surfaces that are easier to wipe down between surgeries.
- Reliable gas supply: A centralized system instead of depending only on cylinders.
- One team, one responsibility: Fewer calls, fewer delays and clear accountability.
- Furniture built for daily use: Durable and easy to clean.
- Support after handover: Hospitals can also look at our AMC/CMC services to keep equipment and systems in good working condition.
Actual outcomes depend on the scope of work, site conditions and the terms of the project agreement.
Client Feedback
“We wanted a clean, well-planned OT for our ENT procedures, along with a reliable medical gas system and practical furniture. MedGenz handled all three as one project, and their team was professional and clear in their communication from planning to handover. We are happy with the work.”
